Dusty Lake is located in the Quincy Potholes, a short hike from the parking area just south of Burke Lake. My fourth cast with an F4 frog flatfish resulted in the loss of all my terminal gear, as the knot at the swivel unraveled. I caught the pictured 'bow on an F2 red flatfish which I released after shooting the picture. You cannot imagine how hard it is to hold the rod in one hand and take a picture with the other! A fellow fly fisherman caught and released a beautiful male about 20 inches long while I was there. He was using a tan scud size 14 or 16 and had numerous hookups.

A top notch lake with superb fish, few people and only a thirty minute walk. Doesn't get much better than that!

Good report & great pics. you would never now that we have scenes like that in Washington. Most outsiders think of rain and lots of greenery.

Wow, great looking fish and very nice picture, that one should be in a frame. I am heading over the last weekend in April for some bassin, never been there yet, does anyone have any tips for the bass, i mean not as much as the gear but the areas? Thanks.
