I went to try things out in the boat for the first time this year. I added the down rigger and it was my intention to use it but my granddaughter spent the night so I took her with me instead of the down rigger. This was her first time out on the water in a boat, she just turned 4. I didn’t know how she would take to it. She was OK for the first 5 minutes then she wanted to go back home. But I told her we were going around the island again then we would go home. My granddaughter, Zoe, did just fine even though we fished for about an hour and a half total.
We trolled wedding rings with worms, nothing biting even though it has been planted. The fish finder said there were fish in various places. It was sunny but chilly, breezy but not too windy. I planned to bring my thermometer but I forgot. I also realized on the lake that I forgot to put my legal tabs on the trailer and bring my fishing license. We were the only ones on the lake.

Sounds like a great day! I hope Zoe gets hooked on fishing like her Grandma Toni, lol. Thanks for the report.

Toni,
Don't let Zoe's first boat trip keep you from taking her fishing. The trips you can take with her will be memories you can remember forvever. I suggest "Snacks" LOL. If she stays busy eating snacks, she won't think so much about going home. Happy Fishing

AJ'S Dad, I will take her fishing in the boat again! I didn't mean to leave that impression. I brought BBQ Chips for snacks...she ate almost all of them. I know that the attention span of a 4 year old isn't long, so for her to enjoy herself with me for over an hour, cooped up in the boat, is great.
