What a beautiful morning to fish. Mild temps and no wind. We started on the "Bar" before the sun was up. After two passes in about 90 minutes of wrork we had 4 fish including a 17.5 pound kicker. Then I made the mistake of staying there, justifying it by thinking I had just gotten 3 fish in 25 minutes. But, "The Bar" closes down once that sun gets between 1 and 2 fists above the horizon. I then headed out across the indeterninate flat downlake from "the Bar" We found fish in the potholes out thee that get to a bit over 215' deep. Three fish in rapid succession. Then a long loop where we lost 2 and finally got that 8th fish. Took pictures and as soon as I started cleaning fish, we got another nice solid 5+ pound fish. We got bit on T-4 Flatfish in Purple Glow (that's what the big fish came on) and Luminous Chartreuse. We caught a number of fish on a big double whammy wedding ring set up with a giant smile blade from Mack's Lures baited with cured Laker belly. We used Pautzke's krill and Kokanee fuel to add even more scent to the strip baits. We also got 2 fish on narrow green glow Silver Horde Spoon. The fish on the Bar came from 115 to 135' deep. The "pothole" fish came in depths of 205 to 215.
