fish'd between 12:00-2:30pm on pond #6 (Buena) had to see if any panfish were showing yet as there are some big crappie to14" and big bassover 8lbs in this big pond,(check out I-82 ponds fishing reports back 2 years for a picture. all i could catch were (14) trout that were 11-14" fishing a purple/red flash jig 1/64oz. there was a good chop on the water so i could only cast up to 30ft out. but the trout were cruz'n close and i watch most of them take the jig. gave several jigs to some bait fishers that were not catching anything and a few cards to this site. will be back for the crappie/bass/catfish that are in here.

Did you switch up the color of jig much? Do you move a lot when fishing? Thanks for sharing........once again.

I do tend to move around as i'll go to the fish if they do not come to me. If I feel that the fish are there i'll stick around and switch colors and or lures. I'm always searching for spots that do not get fish'd much or are hard to fish for most others. But I've also studied fish and have done alot of reading on many subjects about them and have figured for myself what works. of course I'm mainy a shore fisher and my thinking is more intuned to this kind of fishing.

Where do you get into the I-82 ponds that are by the westbound lanes like ponds 1 and 2 and also 5. I have seen them and always wanted to fish them.

A quick little note. The center Island at Buena pond #6 is a late spring hotspot for some nice slab Crappie. Unfortunately you have to fish it from a boat. I have picked up some big largemout bass (3 lbs and up) as Panfisher mentioned primarly by throwing baby Bass 5" senkos or the Shad colored Ghost minnow/ Pearl belly Senko around weed pockets and stickups on the east end of Buena Pond.
