Went out on American looking for schooling perch, but could not mark any in the north end so fished some jigs and worms around 25 ft. range but nothing. Water was 53 degrees with the visibility around 7 ft. My son caught an 17 in. 3 lbs nice looking rainbow with great coloring. If you know the perch in this lake send me a comment and help a friend out, Thanks

Fish the southwest corner of lake by the marina, have caught lots of perch there in late spring thru the summer. The cove just south of marina.

Not sure if the perch are deep or not right now. I dont know when and where they spawn but if were to guess they are gettin ready to spawn like everything else. I would key in on 20 to 40 feet of water.

Thats what I thought too. I searched the north end from the VA hospital point on the west side to the eastside where the large condos are and the shoreline. So 20ft to 80ft and only marked trout. There was some signs of what might of been perch in the 60 ft range all the way in the northend but worked it for 2 hrs. and nothing. worms weighted, worms only with a hook for weight to get a slow drop and jigs tipped with worm. I know they should spawn first so I ran up in the shallows and saw nothing.

There is a 20Ft. Shelf just off the Docks at the marina, plenty there in the summer. Also Cove on the other side of the VA hospital, half way between point and the condos, Filled a basket last year in a few hours at both spots, No Luck so far this year I think they are still spawning.
