Rolled the jon boat through the tunnel under the freeway to pond #1 and went down to the end. Then I slapped the wheels back underneath and rolled it over the dike to #2.The water was about 49-50 degrees.I started out heading south along the east bank in about 16 ft of water.I had out a Daiwa SC Shiner in the rainbow trout color about 80 ft back. The action was pretty fast and furious for awhile caught and released a bunch.Had to remove the belly hook from the lure to keep from getting it in the gills or eyes.I noticed some bigger fish down about 18 ft or so on the south end so i slowed the troll to a crawl and flipped out an olive bugger on full sink fly line.I tried this for about half an hour without 1 fish being caught. After a couple of passes around the lake I went and fished #1.The water temp was considerably warmer(about 54-55 degrees)And the action was a bit better too. Here again the SC shiner stood out as the producer.By the end of the day I caught probably 70 some trout and kept 5 11 inchers for the cornmeal.Wish I would have brought some jigs cause there was a bunch of what i figured to be panfish in the weeds on the east bank of #1 suspended from about 5-10 ft in about 13 ft of water.Cant wait to go back and try for them.I smell a fish fry
