Fished about 30 yards from the boat launch with my brother and his girlfriend. Caught three fish total and had 5 fish on. The fish are spawning next to the boat launch and are hitting on bright lures (rooster tails, spoons). Caught all within an hour or so, very shallow water there but the trout were still hitting! Two fish were around 20 inches, very beautiful fish, and the third a little smaller but still a nice sized fish! the two that got loose looked around the 20 inch range. Unfortunately, forgot the life jackets and got ticketed! Very nice Game Warden though! Found out the docks were private by a very rude guy! Shouldn't there be a private property sign??? Overcast weather but still a great day on the lake!

Good Job! Do you happen to know how the "mac" bite is at Deer? Ive been a few times this year but had NO luck.

A guy rolled past us yesterday after being out on the lake for half an hour. I figured he got bored or something but I guess he was just so happy bc he had caught the biggest mac he'd ever caught. He said it was around 40", even the game warden was impressed. Other than that just low, slow and deep is pickin them up for a few people I've talked to.

the rude guy is probably bruce at west bay resort he has the docks that are in the middle of the bay still. i have been out once but did not even get a bite in 4 hrs?
