Were you trolling with two rods by yourself? I noticed you posted that you had two at once. Looks like your putting that two pole endorsement to good use.

No I use only one rod at a time. I fish two flies: a size 8 black wooly bugger followed by a size 12 green dragonfly nymph. .

Kokanee are a beautiful fish. I have hooked a few on Roesigner myself. If you can get the time, try Baker Lake by Concrete, there is some great action for kokes there, just watch out for logs! The resort is a sweet place to camp at as well.

Baker Lake Resort is Closed. They lost their concession and closed last year. Both Baker and Lake Shannon hold good numbers of kokanee. Other west side kokanee lakes worth trying would be Stevens, Whatcom and Lake Sammish.

rseas, I stayed there last summer at the resort, has it closed since then? Do you know what the power company is doing with the property there? I was going to go up there again for a few days when the weather gets a little warmer. Only reason I am asking is because I rented a nice 12' boat and motor and had a blast with my girlfriend. I also heard that the sockeye from Baker dam get dropped in there and that there are some real nice fish in there.

PSE operates the facility as part of its Baker River Hydroelectric Project in Whatcom and Skagit counties.

The lakeside resort, about 10 miles east of Mount Baker, will be open from May 22 to 26. The resort will close from May 27 to June 13, and then remain open until Sept. 14.

The resort includes 90 tent campsites, 11 cabins, boat rentals and moorage, a boat ramp, playground, and public restrooms.

Hey Ral! My girlfriend and I were fishing next to you when you caught that double (Nice Work). It was a great day out there and we both limited trolling green wedding rings in a couple of hours.

Wow. What a beautiful fish. I think that's the first time I've seen a kokanee. Bet it's really something right out of the water.
