Had some down time between jobs and decided to try Lake Stevens after reading "rseas" report. It started pretty windy and rainy and the fishing was slow. I have the double pole endorsement, so I had two poles out. Trolled past another boat that had one, and they told me they got it on an orange wedding ring, so I quickly tied one up. I take the stock ones and re-tie them on 6 lb flourocarbon and add a second Gamakatsu hook to the rig. Thanks for the tip guys!

The wind died down and rain let up a bit around noon, and then the bite was on, even through the showers. I had the orange rig tipped with a Berkley power maggot in chartruese behind a Sep's dodger, set at 17 to 19 feet. On the other side I ran a deep red wedding ring, same dodger and bait, set at 23 feet. I was trolling along the north shore between 1.3 and 1.6 mph. I had 3 or 4 doubles. I got a limit of 10 fish, with 4 over 14 inches, and I probably lost easily as many. I use ultralight trout poles and light white cannon or yellow Sep releases on the downriggers, so it is an absolute blast for the kokes. Bleed them and get them on ice right away! Yummy!
