Well I went with a few of my friends plus some of their church buddies, arrived at the lake around 7 am wandered around for a bit till we hit the T dock on the east sides seems nobody was there so we headed further north to the other T-dock near the boat rental area. Met up with the church guys and started throwing kastmasters. my buddy was using a worm and marshmellows with not much luck. i threw a silver i think it was 1/4 ozkastmaster a few casts and on cast 2 i land a lil 8 inch planter. Then one of the church guys chris lands a planter as well. we throw them back looking for bigger fish. chris was using a gold one. Soon enough everyone started to use spoons/spinners and eventually landed more planters. Chris manages to land a fat 18 inch trip and a beautiful 14 inch bow with red on it. he kept those 2. he and the church guys left around 1ish. Me and my buds went down to the T dock on the east side and started throwing the kastmasters again and soon enough we hook up planters, planters, and more planters nothing really over the 10 inch mark. Gold and silver kastmasters. we end up leaving and fishing down at the bleachers with no luck. we come back up to the T-dock about 20 minutes later we go back to the t-dock to catch some dinky planters we end up releasing one near the shallows and about 60 seconds later we hear a giant splash and finds out theres a huge largemouth sitting under the dock chasing the lil planter and it gets away. So we franticly try and catch dinks and just hook them through the lip with a nice hook and let them swim freely under the dock i got 1 hit off the bass but i was caught around the piling thing so i couldnt set the hook after that we just got follows for another hour or so. It was easily over 5lbs. We gave up around 6 and called it a day. i would have rated this day a 5 but the fact that i couldnt feel my hands from 7 am - 1pm contributed to this 4 .

Welll Tight lines didn't take pictures as my hands were frozen and it was raining pretty hard

By "dinks" do you mean the planter trout? I think it's illegal to use them for bass bait like that. Anyone know?

Using a gamefish as bait is indeed illegal.

If the game fish never leaves the water is it really bait? I think bubba800 is breaking the spirit of the rule but not the letter. There's no reg. against slow retrieval of a caught fish.

"So we franticly try and catch dinks and just hook them through the lip with a nice hook and let them swim freely under the dock" does not sound like slow retrieval to me. Sounds like you guys caught some trout, put them on a larger hook and tried to catch a bass. Letter of the law is a bad excuse.

why don't you let the game wardens enforce the regs and let people just fish.

ya your as bad as the flyfishermen who were bustin spinning rod fishermen via radio to the wardens over here in spokane on the spokane river. Butt out and mind your business. Fishing has no room for snitches and snobs.
