Hit Canal with my son and two of his novice fisherman buddies early Saturday AM. We tried the midlake holes initially with little to show. Found a cove in the southwest corner of the lake that offered a consistent run of rainbows till about 11 AM. Depth varied between 15 and 25 feet of water. We then moved back to midlake holes around noon at about 15-20 feet and the rainbows were back. Hit more trout for about 1-2 hours before calling it a day. Trout were planters, running between 10 and 13 inches, but fun for novices to catch on light rods. Real acrobats. We fished with black and silver Roostertails with olive green tailfeathers.

Saw some big rascals on the fishfinder on the way back to the dock along the rock walls on the north half of the west side of the lake but we were out of time. That'll be a project for another day.
