Launched at Roses lake around 2:00 PM, and headed up to the north end to try for some Bluegill. Was using 1/16oz jig heads with Berkley's micro minnow and nymph. Colors used were Perch, smoke/orange, Pearl/grey, and white/pink. To this we added a white Crappie nibble (one nugget) and cast toward the toulees and slow jigged them back to the boat. We picked up a few 7-8inch bluegills, several 6-8inch LMB, and Cindy caught one LMB about 1 pound. We then went to the south end working down along the west side jigging along. We had yellow perch follow the bait, but could not pick any up. We started catching fish about half way down the lake, and in 10-15 feet of water. Didn't pick up very many in the shallows on this end of the lake. Everything seemed to be holding deep, and the marks on the depthfinder were within 2-3 feet of the bottom. Working the bait slow was the ticket for us today. We ended up catching 4 rainbows, 1 brown, one tiger trout, multiple Bluegills, 2 crappie, and bunches of LIL bass. Cindy caught 2 trout on a castmaster on rainbow color, and all other fish were caught on the jigs. The crappie were 9 1/2 - 10inches, bluegill up to 9 inches, and the trout were standard 12-16 inch fish. There were a few other boats on the water, and we heard shouts of excitment on several occasions. We left the water around sundown with a good mess of fish, and a great evening on the water. Water temp was around 59-60* on the north end and 54-55* on the south end. Light wind and partly cloudy made it jacket weather, but otherwise a nice day to be out. Tight lines and hungry fish.
