Was on the water by 8:30 AM, water is so clean you can see 30-40 feet down. Fishing was good all day. A lot of rises all over the lake. Got my first fish about 15 minutes into the day. IT was a 18 inch RB that I caught on a size 8 BH Olive Wooley Bugger with 5 very small split shots about 3 feet up. This fish was caught right off a big rock along the south side of the lake (not the one right off the boat launch). The next fish I caught was right at the opening of a large cove 3/4 down the south side which is the left side off the launch. The size of that fish was a 15 inch RB caught on the same fly. I caught two more RB on the south side that were 16, and 17 inches and caught on the same fly. Then I caught a 19 inch RB at the west end (farthest from the launch) in about 20 feet of water, same fly. Next I caught a 10 inch brook trout on a f2 Frog pattern flat fish with a siwash hook (single, not a treble). Then I caught a 5 inch very silver kokanee. It is a good lake to fish. Fish the south side all fish caught there except the biggest one. Also slowly drift into the small cove on the south side. A lot of huge RB hang out in one of the creek channels. I wouldn't bother with the north side, there isn't many fish there. For the bank fisherman, fish of the point and the cove to the left of the boat launch, You can pretty much walk around the whole lake with it being so low this time of the year. The rock in front of the boat launch usually has a couple fish hanging around it too so give it a try. The Yakima is pretty good fishing I here, the river is only flowing at about 700 cfs, They had to let water out of the dams to keep the trout population alive. There are some big RB in Lost lake and plenty of Brookies have fun at this lake and keep it as clean as it is now (please)!
