With the picture perfect day, we had to hit Roses on Sunday. Started around 1000 and finished 6:00.
Fished mostly jigs in darker colors in 1/16oz weight and used worms on ocassion. Caught most of our fish today without the worms, as we couldn't notice any increase in bite when we would tip the jig with a worm. What did seem to enhance the bit was adding a white crappie nibble to the jig. We got the majority of bites in 8-18 feet of water jigging slowly with the hits coming in the lower 10 feet of water. We caught a few crappie and perch after the pic was taken, so ended up bringing home a nice mess of panfish. The trout was 9 - 10 1/2inches, and the yellow perch were 11 1/2 inches, with one lil dink. The blugill were in the 7-9 inch class with a few dinks tossed back. While jigging for the pan fish I caught a limit of trout (rainbow and brown), and cindy had 4 trout by the time we called it a day. So we came home with 9 trout and a good mess of panfish. The trout I bled and put on Ice as we caught them, so didn't take a pic of them. They ran from 12-16 inches. Colors used were brown, black, green, orange, and perch color, and we didn't find a color preference this trip. We watched the Ospreys fishing (with good success), and had our first sighting of goslings. There were a couple pair of the geese with 7 litle ones between them. The lil guys must have only a couple days old as they were not much bigger than a good sized fist. Anyway, good fishing, and great weather. Stay safe and enjoy the fishing.

Nice mess of fish blufin. Spiny rays are my favorite eating fish, well, until we got a smoker for all those Roosevelt trout anyway. Makes me want to head to some local panfish lakes here! :-)

Hey ya afk, my mouth was watering too until we cooked em up and man were they good. The trout went to an appreciative single mom with kids who enjoy a fresh mess of fish once in a while. The folks don't fish, but maybe someday the lil ones will get the chance. hope ya get on the water soon.

hewesfisher, couldn't agree with ya more. I grew up chewing on fish bones, and the panfish still hold a special place to me.

Awesome Lewis. No matter where you go the fish should beware. I don't know if you read about Carrie winning in the youth division at the derby in Conconully. 2lb 6oz rainbow. I'm proud of her.

Howdy panfisher, I been reading your reports all spring and wishing I lived close enough to try bumming a trip with ya. You sport some nice reports and pics. I've enjoyed your willingness to share the tricks of the trade on the site. Keep up the great work.
