Opening weekend at Wapato Lake, report 3 of 3. Very little wind on the third day, mostly sunny and pretty warm. Started out with the green then black roostertail that had worked in the previous two days. Did not get any signs of life on those, so I dug out a lure I don't use much, but have had some success with: a metalic blue F5 flatfish. The vibration is pretty attractive on these. I put it on my clip swivel and headed across the lake toward another boat in our party that was parked still fishing near some reeds, near several other boats doing the same. But before I could get to them, I got a strike, but no hookup. Shortly after that, I brought my first fish of the day to hand. Then I just kept trolling around that same general area, landing eight fish in two hours, and losing three who shook the hook with some crazy acrobatic jumping. These were some hard-hitting feisty fish. It is so much fun to hold the pole and feel the strikes. I could see them feeding on the surface from time to fime.

Urban, sounds like a nice time. You took the "Urban Assault" on the road this time... and went "Rural"

That fish is almost round! Great fun to catch fish like that, even if they aren't huge. Good report.

Thank you. It was a fine rural assault, with us city slickers not even attempting to blend in. Caught many of those feisty strong fish. See you next year, Wapato.

It does kinda look like a kokanee, but I am unsure if that's what it is.
