Got to the lake around 11:30. Windy is the keyword. I ran down to the far end of the lake thinking that, with the wind direction, it would be managable there. It was OK, but still a challenge. Casting light crank baits in the wind does not cut it for me. One can judge the wind and get close to your target as long as it is not into the wind, lol, yeah right, but the belly of the line goes where it wants, which is usually around a bunch of pads, then when you reel in, your bait follows that line and ends up going where you do not want it to.

So, I fished plastics, for the most part, which is my favorite way, anyway. Tried a few different things with no luck. Finally settled on a 4" watermelon/lemon Yamasenko and bingo. I love feeling the bite, and the lighter it is, the more fun it is, too me. In the wind, this fish just picks up the plastic, it is almost like 'OK, something is going on but....', set the hook, fish on. Not too big, but fun. 10 minutes later, exact same thing with the same sized fish. 10 minutes later, exact same thing with the exact same size fish, again.

Eventually, near the docks, I fished with a shallow crankbait and boated 3 little 8 inchers or so.

Windy and a very trying day, but the fishing was alright, nothing big but lots of fun and I hate taking a picture of myself:)

Quit fishing at 7:00 p.m. with 6 fish total to the boat.
