In between rain squalls I decided to take out the float tube and circle Bitter. I have never floated this lake before. Also I have not ever caught a fish here. Thought today was my day but not even a bite. WIll keep cracking at it. Probably not a good time to go between 1 and 3. Good luck everyone.

If you are in a tube... fish this lake with very slowly dragging a little green soft plastic grub with just a couple of split shot. You will pick up a ton of rock bass this way, one it warms up. Maybe in another 3 weeks. Then come June-Aug you can catch large mouth bass. For those guys try throwing a watermelon colored Senko towards the shallows at the West end of the lake. The largies are harder to come by,,,, but you will slay the rock bass. Forget about trout fishing in bitter lake. It is fine for planters the first couple weeks after the plant,, but then that's it.

Your better off taking your float tube to Green Lake a few miles south. Bitter was planted in March with only 1000 trout while Green Lake has been planted with over 15,000 trout. Plus there are also triploids that are 1.5 pounds each.
