First time out on the lake was about 10am. We bank fished from a couple of different spots. Walked around the lake to get a good view of what we were in for. Lots of people there which made it difficult to find a good bank spot.

Once we found the first one, we ditched it quickly because all we were catching were tree branches. So, we moved on to the backside of the lake directly across from the dock. A little better luck at getting our lines in the water and out of the trees.

People were catching fish left an right all around us. We both used large night crawlers and I added green power bait to mine. Got several nibbles, but nothing to yank the line back on to anchor the hook.

Decided to call it a day and went in to town. Bought two single-man pontoon boats for a steal. Assembled them and quickly set back out for the lake for late afternoon fishing.

There were fewer people and the temps were perfect for a light jacket. Just a slight breeze to float you around the lake perfectly on a slow troll.

We used stand-up bobbers with about a 2 to 4 foot lead. Tried sinkers, then took them off. Still used worms and power bait. A few more nibbles, but still no luck. Got some free entertainment from the local bald eagle. He was having about as much luck as we were and he'd resort to sitting on a log in the middle of the water just cleaning himself.

Looking forward to going back out and trying out some different lure's and bait. We heard that someone was using a minnow with worms on it and did real well. We knew we should have done that!!!

Better luck next time. Our boats are getting dry and needs more water!
