fished it for years
I have fished this lake for years. The hike itself is not as hard as some would lend it to be. I have found the peak time is the 1st of Aug to the beginning of Sept. I have caught Cuttys, Rainbows and Kokanee trout there on just about everything imaginable, you can easily fly fish the lower lake beneath the waterfall, as there is adequate space for a camp above. Fires are not allowed near the lake though. I will not divulge any sizes because I have caught all different ones. Kokanee hang out on the upper lake on the NE side in the deep, the Cuts and Rainbows are everywhere. The waters cold but I swim it. There are some interesting things in that lake to take pictures of if you are brave enough to swim. Bring good mosquito repellent, as the lake has an abundance of the hated insect. Be ready for any weather as it changes from hour to hour. Only a few people hike/fish this lake every year so take it easy on the trails and lake. Happy fishing.
