With the weather being as it was and cooler i visited McIntosh Lake for a short half- ways around the edges on the southern half (right of the Public boat launch) of the lake for temperature readings, water clarity conditions, and if the conditions were right signs of the spawn. Water temps at public launch at around 9 a.m. was 55 degrees and at end of day (1 p.m), temps at launch 58 degrees. Water clarity could see down about 5 to 6 ft.depending of slight breeze which was on and off for the duration of time i spent on the water. Saw no signs of spawning activity in the shallows along the edges. Did not spook or see any moving fish. Did not get any strikes or takes on any of my lure presentations. Did get to try out some new store bought top water frog type lure from Bass Pro Shops which later on is going to be a good producer on this lake. Saw trout fisher people catching smaller planter trout looks like most were fishing off the bottom from shore and most boat anglers. I started a new thing last year by picking 1 public launch and at the end of the day i would walk around the edges of the water and asphalt and do a trash pick up. A couple of local anglers who fish the lake at the launch saw what i was doing and they also started doing it too which makes the area more pleasing to the eye. Now if everybody did that too there favorite lake what a difference we all would notice. Bring a small plastic bag with you next time you go fishing and take a little time to walk the area to collect the trash and take home to dispose of for Public Boat launches do not have trash containers. Still got only electrics to fish so have really been doing a lot of finese fishing. I'll be back!!
