Went out to Long Lake today, first time this year I've been on this water. Launched out of Nine Mile and headed west. Water temps were anywhere from 50F to 55F depending on where along the lake we were.
Took a buddy of mine out and he caught his first fish of the year along with another nice 2lb 7oz smallie. We had several follows with crankbaits but used senkos to actually hook-up. All in all, a pretty nice afternoon. This water was pretty debris filled with various wood and branches so have to keep a very watchful eye when running. Also, some pretty shallow areas we found with some 2-3' deep rockpiles that looked like great fishing spots for tubes. Will hit those up next time.
