Got to the lake a little after 6am. I took one of my friends sons out with me who has never fished for kokanee and he was very excited to go. We were trolling on top and on the downrigger between 11-25ft deep. Right off the bat on the top we got fish but couldnt get them to the boat those soft mouths were getting the best of us. Got 3 nice ones in the boat. Around 1045 the bite stopped for us se we went from the NE shore and fished for bass and those big trout they planted. Got a few small perch a trout and had bass follow the lures but no takes. For those that used the launch in town Im sure say a boy fishing for a bass. After I got the boat out the friend I brought used a worm and caught that bass. It was the biggest he had caught so for at 2.3 lbs. I try to fish for bass but Im not that good at it but I know theres bigger ones. We let it go un harmed right after the pic I think he/she was garding a bed. I dont know if the other kids caught the bass after we left. It was a very fun day on the water. Good Luck to those fishing the derby this coming saturday.
