I was on the water at 5 a.m. in a kayak. I put the kayak in near the Kenmore airport. Rigth off the bat I seen fish jumping. Both fingerlings and large fish. As it was still semi dark I couldn't see what kind of fish the larger ones were, however they were pretty good size. I started off using a spinner for about 1/2 hour with no luck. Since I could see the fish were still on the bite I switched to the good ole fasion worm. I was able to get quite a few bites only reeling in one decent size pike minnow. After realizing it may just be the pikeminnows feeding in that area I decided to move on to some deeper water for the cuts. After trolling for a bit with spinners and worms I didn't catch anything. So then I decided to move closer to shore to do some bass fishing. Again no luck, I just tried a couple different top water baits and also tried jigging a plastic worm. All in all it was a beautiful morning to be out on a kayak. This was my first time fishing this end of the lake, and I will be back to try my luck again.
