Me and my buddy went down to spanaway to wet my new fly rod wet a lil' bit. Didn't expect to catch anything (look like a drunk chicken with a fishing pole when i fly cast) just wanted some practice. Saw a bunch of bass sitting on their beds, so i tied on the biggest fly i had with me, a black woolly bugger with a red bead i tied that was ugly as sin. C & R 3 good bass in a hour or so we were there, two of them were lmb and one smallie. The biggest close to 4lb and the smallest bout a pound and a half. Saw a another guy c & r and bout a 5lb moose of a smallie. Was fishing the pool just above the outlet creek wading around. All an all an awesome day, finally got my first fish on the ol' fly pole. If you go remember these fish are guarding eggs so have fun and get'em back in the water to protect the nest from bluegills.

Thanks for the report. Were you in a boat or on shore?
