Got out on the lake around 8:30 AM. Sky was overcast with rain off and on. Water surface temp around 60 degrees.
My brother was trolling power bait shallow and consistently getting action.
I rigged a 1/2 chartreuse 1/2 silver Dick Nite behind a 1/2 silver 1/2 blue Kast Master, tipped the hook with sherbet Power Bait and attached a 1 oz chain sinker to the main line to get it down 50 ft to where the depth finder was marking big fish.
After 2 passes the rod tip dipped twice.......fish on.
TON of fun getting that bad boy to the boat. Talk about testing the limits of my ulta light gear. The rig alone was pushing it. Just when we thought we were going to get him in the net he'd take off again.
Finally got him in the cooler. 15" beauty.. Awesome day.
