After the weather broke a little bit in the afternoon I decided to go out to Fish Lake for a few hours of fishin' fun.

I got on the water about 2:30 pm and all was fairly calm with a surface temp of 65° and 59° at 18 to 20 feet. I was marking fish 50' feet from the launch at 5 to 10 feet.

I began with my sink tip rig with a #10 green/black stillwater nymph. I caught a Pumpkin Seed on the first cast......as I was reeling it in a large (18"+) Tiger Trout was following it in. Seeing this I changed to a #6 Blond Stayner Ducktail with a red tag. I began casting this to the weed edge, letting it sink 6 or 8 feet and stripping it in quickly. Wham! I caught a 15" Tiger on my second cast. A little later a 19" Tiger came to net. After a 15-minute dry spell, I moved to my favorite area of the lake (far SW corner) where the water is deepest. I began the same process of casting and letting it sink and quickly retrieving. I caught 4 or 5 recent planters (8 to 10" each). I decided to move back to the weeds in the middle of the lake and as I was moving across the open water on the West side I hooked into a 23" fat Tiger Trout. This guy was one of the largest Tigers I've seen in a while on Fish Lake. After returning him to the water I only caught 2 more fish, one nice 14" Brookie and another recent planter. However this day was a 4 because of the size, not quantity of fish.
