I was able to get out on Saturday ... And I was very early. 6:00am !! Which I don't normally do. WOW!!! ... The West side of Mercer Island was just alive with bait on the surface, on the shorelines.
I was suprised. Plus it appeared the Smallmouth were in bustin' the bait up.

Which leads me to this question: How long do the downstream Cutts stay in the Lake?

I caught only 1 fish .. Another BIGGY .. 26" Male Cutt on my Abalone spoon. For me it's was a slow day, not sure why .... Worked hard for just 1 fish, yet with all the bait, they had plenty to choose from. Lost 2 nice "take-downs" pulling Cut Plug Herring.

Usually I'm out on the salt, Salmon fishing by now, and in July start hitting the beaches for Salt Cutthroats, so I was suprised to see this big Male Cutthroat still in the Lake, barfing Stickle back, and in a very good heatlhy state.

I would think they'd be out in the Salt by now?
