Caught no less than 70 fish. Qualifying that: caught 10 crappie worth keeping, but let most go; caught tons of little ones, including 2 bass that were less than 4 inches long. I'm amazed, they both took my size 10 hook all the way down to the gullet. I caught a couple larger bluegill on a size 10 frog I tied with deer hair and rubber bands. Best fly was a bead head olive nymph.
Weather was nasty- wind blew away my hopes of using my fly rod, cast 2 new knots in my leader. Constant threat of rain and thunder storms, but only rained sprinkles. My little pontoon did great thoughout the mess.
I only wish my kids could have been with me (hurry and get out school).

I have always wanted to try to fly fish Liberty lake. I want to target the big browns in there with a deep sinking line and nymphs and chronomids.. I bet if you increased your size of your fly your size of fish would go up. The small ones wont be able to bother you.

Example is Fish lake. I fish for the tiger trout that feed off of the pumpkin seed sunfish with a fly pattern no less then 4 inches tied on a 2 or 4 hook.. it is like fishing for bass.

Try a bigger hook next time and I do believe you will catch larger fish.
