Welcome to spring, finally!
Launched out of Nine Mile Resort around 11:30am and fished various docks and banks. Got my first fish by skipping up under a tree. Next one was beside a boat-house. After the first hour, headed up past Willow bay about 1 mile. Gotta say, there are some classic bass structures past that area headed west. Laydowns, rock transition areas, points, you name it. Pretty much everything you read about in magazines as well as Iaconelli and KVD's books.
Skipped up under a tree and had a few seconds to feel proud about my cast when I hooked up, another 2+lb smallie.
After an hour or so, got tired of rocking back and forth from all the boat traffic and decided to head back. On the way, fished a couple shorelines and picked up 2 more.
Overall, caught a total of 6 Smallmouth's using senkos. Measured a couple out, averaged around 2lb 4oz in the 15" range.
Water temps were in the range of 58-61F.
