Gotta love those olive wooly buggers! Hit the lake and rented a boat w/motor and packed the kids and wife in for an afternoon of fun. Started out trolling just a worm on a hook with a couple splitshot and wouldn't ya know it... BAM! Right off the bat I got a nice sized one. Did some stillfishing due to the ski boaters crowding the lake. When things calmed down a little I threw on the ever faithful fishcreek spinner but only got one hit. Can't win 'em all... The kids were gettin' restless and I knew time was growing short, so I decided to make a bold move and try trolling some topwater flies. Switched my wife to an olive wooly first and within a minute she took the lead... FISH ON!!! She got a little ego boost from that so it was time for me to switch too. The war was on... We were both getting hits every 2-3 minutes and the action was ridiculous! The kids even got back into it. We broke into teams and we each had a netter/cheerleader. We both ended up with our limit when we called it a day around 7:30. Trolled back to the dock and offloaded the boat and showed the day's catch to the envious dockfishers. What a blast!!!
