Went down to Ohop on sunday at about 3 pm and stayed until about just before 9.
Went out with my buddy LMBDave and another person who I'll keep anonymous.
We were using 1/32 oz Tube Jigs under a small float.
Tried various colors such as white, red/white, red/yellow, yellow/white etc.
Basically we cruised the shoreline looking for structure.
We mainly targeted trees and sunken logs, etc.
I caught 4 Black Crappie, a Yellow Perch, and a Bluegill.
Congrats to LMBDave for achieving his goal and catching the first Black Crappie of his life!!
He also caught a pretty much suckerfish on a tubejig!
At first we thought it was a big bass by how hard it fought and how it had his pole bent over but nope.. suckerfish.. weird eh?
Anyways, the guy who was nice enough to take us was killing it! He caught probably 4 times as many fish as we did. We learned the secret later on but that shall remain a secret :)
All in all, I rate Ohop a 4 because I caught my first Black Crappies of 2010 as well as a real bluegill unlike the pumpkinseeds I have been catching.
Plus it was pretty awesome day even though I didn't break double digits.
