The wife an I headed out to Loon after work, got in the water about 6 pm and headed strait out to the northeast flats, the wind was unbearable to navigate so we just went to the northwest lillie's which was a better choice. We nailed about 6 fish in an hour and missed quite a few. I picked up these 2 nice one's on a Zoom 8" lizard in only a couple feet of water. Winds died down around 8pm and it cooled off quick. Water temp in the shallows 67 degrees.

Hey bassdude, well, I wouldn't say evertime out, I think we all have good and bad days fishing! I know most fishermen on this site don't like to reveal what they use and I was like that when I first started posting, but realized that there is more to this site than bragging about hey, I catch big fish, woop dee do! I realized that this site is a great resource and should be used to share our experience and information on what works where and how. So bazzdude, this is what works for me. I'm a big fan of plastics, worms, lizards and grubs. Was re-introduced to Zoom products a few years back from a guy that used them on big bass in florida, plus I used them in Texas back in the late 80's. I first started using their green pumpkin seed trick worm with red hooks, no weight, Texas rigged of course. Caught lot's of Smallmouth and Largmouth on these, very effective on the smallmouth in Long lake (Spokane river), see my posts. After attending a bass seminar from a local pro last year at the fishing show I was introduced to lizards, so I picked up some Zoom 6" lizards and started messing with different colors and found the watermelon seed with red flake and the green pumpkin seed with and without the red flake to be the most effective in the northern tier lakes Eloika, Newman, Loon, Waitts, and the Pend Orielle river. I have caught a few using purple and black but not as consistant as the other colors. Even though I'm catching LMB up to 6 lbs with these, I wanted to upgrade, bigger bait bigger fish, so I switched to 8" lizards, same colors, ordered these on-line at Cabela's because they don't carry these in the store. Using the bigger lizards has cut down the number of dinks and has increased the number of 3-4lbers, but the 6+lber has still eluded me. Anytime you want to "hook" up, let me know!
