Wow what a time! After leaving potholes we arrived at Banks Monday eve. Fished up around Osborne bay for a couple hours managed to boat 1 18.5" walleye and a 14 in smallie. Also lost a couple fish. The next morning we went down to Barker canyon/flats and had a great time. We kept 4 walleye 17" to 20 " and released numerous small fish and lost a couple nicer fish. The magic lure this time was an orange cha cha hootchie. It out fished everything else about 3 too 1. As far as fishing goes the trip was more like a 4, but this trip was special for me. I had open heart surgery less than 5 weeks ago and will be going back to work soon. I wanted to get in a trip with my 11 year old son before that, and thats what made it special. We didn't fish as much as I'd like to have, but thats OK. He went swimming, inner tubing and saw the lazar show, just had a good time all the way around. It was actually nice to be at half speed because it gave me time see things more from his perspective. There really is more than fishing to do, even if I don't want to believe it.
