Dad and I took our buddies from Tonasket out for their first ever, long-anticipated trip to Omak Lake. It didn't disappoint. We hooked an 8 lb. beauty to start the day out, followed with 15 more fish in the 17-23" range in the next 2.5 hours. The bite died down around 11:00 a.m.; we fished for another hour with no bites. First time that's ever happened to me at Omak. But all in all a good trip.

Wow! That sounds like a really satisfying fishing trip. How many variety's of Cutthroat are in Omak? Are other trout species swimming around in Omak?

As far as I know there are only Lahontan Cutthroat in that lake. The water is highly alkaline and uninhabitable by most species of fish.

How do you drop a boat in that lake? Is there a Launch on the Northern end of the lake? If so, how do I get down to it? I saw a pretty tricky road going to the Northern part of the lake. The south end of the lake is miles away and I don't know what road to take down to where I could launch my boat.
