We got to lake Cavanaugh around 7:00 AM, we atomatically started trolling from the boat launch to the left side of it. We had only trolled around 150ft from the launch and my dad caught a 10in kokanee. We continued to troll towards the outlet of the lake at the far left side and we trolled all the way to the two smaller islands. Then decided to go aand try the far end, I was using a Gold Ford Fender to begin with and my dad had a silver one and he had already caught 3 nice kokes and I hadn't had one but as soon as I switched to a silver trolling string I started to catch them too. We fished to th outlet and did a couple circles and finally after about 4 hours we came away with 6 Kokes, 3 Cutts and 1 Rainbow. Very good fishing, silver falshers trolled with worms seemed to work best but the lake can get a little windy at times.

When you speak of the outlet of the lake, do you mean the outlet which is at the island end of the lake? It is called, "Lake Creek"
or are you talking about the very opposite end, past the boat launch. There is an outlet there also. This end of the lake is very shallow though. Sounds like you had a good time.

No we fished out of a boat, we fished behind the two small islands at the far left end of the lake around what I thought was the outlet.
