The bass and perch bite is red hot. Fished Kapowsin most of the weekend
and caught several bass. Crankbaits fished near stumps and downed logs
has produced very well. Color doesn't seem to be as important as of late but that could change
anytime. Spinnerbaits have done fairly well in white and perch like colors but again, other colors
might prove better. I just get stubborn and stick to old methods. I took several photos via cellphone of my catches but wanted to share the biggest one of the weekend, caught by another
gent on a crankbait. I put it on the digital scale and it went 6.6.
Quality perch have been biting on worm and bobber, depths vary depending on the weather
but they are never to far from the shore,so bank anglers have pretty good access.
All fished released

Good luck out there and enjoy

Its nice to hear you released a big female like that ' that is the future of bass fishing in Washington state, the game department does not do enough for bass fishing in this state. practice catch and release to keep the future of bass fishing going strong.

I wish I could find the perch there. My first time there only got me 2 perch with worm and bobber. I was fishing close to shore probably in 5 ft of water all around the island.

So the stories of big bass in that lake are true. I fish Kapowsin regularly and catch many largemouth but rarely any over a pound. this story and picture is just i needed to keep the hope alive at one of my favorite lakes. catch&release

I`ve seen some of the biggest bass i`ve ever seen come out of this lake but I to have failed to catch them. Most of the big ones I`ve seen are pulled out in the summer months.

since i am the one that caught this fish i will tell you that i was a avid tourney fisherman from the south and have caught my share of lunkers but really like kapowsin. my first trip there and i caught 5 bass. They were 2.2-2.7-2.4-3.75-and of course the big one which was 6.6 to 7.4. She weighed 7.4 right out of the water and full of eggs. And we can all catch them again. I din really want to tell people where i caught them because i din know who i was talking to.
