I met Todd this morning at 6 am. Air temp was about 50 degrees with a light breeze out of the east. We trolled flies around the lake and caught a half-dozen or so rainbow, under 12 inches, and released them all.

Around 9 am, the wind shifted and blew much harder from the west. The trout bite dropped off for us; the wind chill increased.

I was surprised at the large number of fishing boats on this mountain lake; clearly it is a popular place. By mid morning the relatively small launch/parking area was packed with vehicles and empty boat trailers. We did not become aware of either any brown trout or large rainbow being caught this morning.

Because of the grass growing up around them, we surmised that a number of the rv's parked at the resort were left parked there for the summer; maybe all year, as I understand that fishing through the winter ice is also an attraction.
