Hit up Coulon this morning around 6am. Landed 3. 2 smallies, largest going about 3lbs I imagine, not scale, but it was very nice. Caught 1 on perch crank bait and the big one on a purple Yama grub. Caught a rock bass on clear color grub.

Also, missed a nice size trout, suprise!

Anyhow, the fishing was slow and had to work at it, moved around all along the bank.

Tight Lines

You think a Crawdad coloured jig with a twin tail grub would work? I catch alot on the rapala x-rap and pumpkinseed 3 inch grub. I start at Coulon beach park all the way to the north end........ Any Tips

I'm sure you would get bites of crawdad color, there are plenty of crawdads underneath the docks.

The key for me fishing at coulon, is always fishing strucure, the docks. I throw my lures as close as possible to the boat launches or docks and real with a slow retrive. Your bound to get bites. Either rock bass, bass or blue gill. Even the occassional trout will hit the grub.

Try crank baits also, perch color. Grubs and plastics work better though in the weed cover
