My father in law has been with us from Germany for the last two weeks and wanted to go fish Baker. We have told him about the lake but he has never seen it. So off we went, wife, son and in-law. We got to the lake about 8:00 am and the weather was cloudy and alittle cool.
Since he has not seen the lake, I put in at the dam launch and went all the way to Noisy Creek which is my favorite spot. It was a pretty nice run, flat and not much wood in the water. We set there for about 3 hours just fishing worms off the top.
In that time we caught 2 kokanee, and 2 white fish. Just as we were getting ready to go to another part of the lake, my wife hooked into a Dolly Varden. I haven't seen one caught there in along time. When I saw it come to the boat we kept it in the water to release. I did a quick measure and it was just under 18". Forgot to get a girth measure. It was had pretty bright spots and was quite active when released.
After that we went to Anderson creek and by the dam but not much else happened. All in all it was a pretty fun day.
