6:15 am water temp 61.8 cool, cloudy, and windy. So far this year the bad weather has been pretty good to me. 4 in the 2lbs range, and 4 under a pound. Might have done better if i could have kept the boat in position, the wind picked up pretty good. Not sure what the air temp was but it was cold enough to make the lake water feel like bath water.
I came across a fishermen that put the day in perspective. I asked him how he was doing, he gave a so so report, then said... not bad for January, and thats what it felt like. the larger fish that I did catch were dark in color, like they had just moved up from their winter haunts. They had no signs that they had spawned, or were prepairing a bed, no raw fins, or tail, they were in perfect health. was off the water by 11:30 am ending water temp was 61.7
