Found a few boats in my favorite haunts today but I view that as a positive,it forces me
to find other ones. Fished both sides of the north end and north side of the island.
No toads today but the numbers game was good,no official count...maybe 10-12
mini bucketmouths. Not sure what the best lure is as of late. I caught a few on a spinnerbait,
then a Rapala Husky Jerk in Baby bass pattern and then tossed a Rapala jointed in a northern
pike pattern, yes,a pike pattern...I know, odd but that seem to work very well too.
Also managed to catch a rainbow trout on a spinnerbait. All bass were caught fairly close
to the shoreline and hugging downed logs. The Mrs. and I are off all week,so were hoping
to find some big bass here in the next couple days. Don't forget sunsreen either, suppose to get
pretty hot this week.
All fished released
FYI- The perch bite is still going strong with quality and quanity.
Good luck out there
