Had to make a trip to E-burg today so I took the boat and headed up to Kachess afterwards.I decided on Kachess because it usually is the least windy of all the lakes in that area. The fish werent real cooperative today.Must have been all the weather changes in the past few days.I did find one good sized school of Koks right smack in the middle of the lake just down a couple of hundred yards from the boat launch.I went back and forth through them for about an hour picking off several off a downrigger at about 15-25 ft down. They were about 9-10 inches in size and put up a pretty good fight when using smiley blade attractors off a downrigger.I moved on down south toward the dam later on to try to find some bigger fish but never even had a bump after I left that school of fish.Alot of big fish down deep I assume they are Mackinaw.
