Fished Roses for the first time on the 20th. Arrived at about 6:30 and by 7:00 had reeled in two 16" plump rainbows. Continued until about 8:30 and lost one more. Caught these fish on powerbait and eggs/powerbait. The weather was awesome and the fish fought pretty hard. Went back the next day with my son and fished only for about an hour in the middle of the day but got another 16" rainbow. My son actually caught a 12" bass with powerbait. That was a surprise!. Talked to a local who said Roses is teeming with bass. He has caught up to 6 pounders and says 4 pounders are quite common. Also recommended nearby Dry Lake for bass. All in all a good time in beautiful weather. Oh, by the way, we were fishing from the bank and there is very little access. Next time I'll have a boat.
