What can I say?
It was another great day out on Lake Washington!
I went to Log Boom Park again at about 2:30 or so and fished until about 7:30.

I started off the day going after Largemouth Bass under the dock.
I was using a creature bait on a 2/0 hook and skipping it under the dock.

On my 4th cast a Largie hit but hit so subtly that I didn't feel it until I started reeling in.
It caught me off guard and I didn't get a good hook set at all and it easily came off.
I would say it was a good 2 lb to say the least.

Disappointed, I go at it again and about 2 casts later a Largie breaks the surface and takes it but doesn't take it in all the way so when I set the hook it came right off.

Even more disappointed, I go at it yet again.
About 5 more casts later I get a solid bite and I set the hook, Fish On!!

It was just a little largie but it sure fought it's heart out!
She weighed in at just 11 ounces.

After that, countless casts and no bites, I figured that there either weren't anymore under there or they were spooked.

So then I decided to get my panfish on and oh was it good!

I caught over 15 Yellow Perch, over 20 Pumpkinseed Sunfish, 9 Bluegills, 7 Sculpin, and 1 Northern Pike Minnow (Squawfish).

A couple of the Yellow Perch had some decent size to them.
One of the Bluegills I caught was a pretty decent sized one and it was fat!

I was super stoked because out of the countless times I have fished here, I have never caught a Bluegill, only Pumpkinseeds!

I gave the Squawfish a wack and tossed it back in the water for the scavengers to feed on.

Other than that Squawfish, everything was released alive and well :)

All in all it was a great day out on the water!
Caught a ton of fish and had lots of fun!

However, I have never been more annoyed with the people there in my life.
Random kids going through my tackle bag, picking up my other rod and asking if they can have it or use it, a million people asking me what I'm fishing for.

But what was more annoying was the other people fishing, who weren't catching anything.
They were constantly asking me what bait I was using and calling me a liar when I said I was using worms.
They kept telling me I'm "cheating" because they're using worms and not catching anything.
Also, I had a million people literally inches away from my own face while I'm fishing trying to see what I'm doing.
People these days have no respect or sense of personal space, I swear.
As with last time, I had a lot of people making rude, absurd, snotty remarks towards me, some even racist.

But something funny happened today.
These two girls were walking towards the dock and were giggling about something.
Then one of them says "Hey sexy, you gonna catch me a fish?" and before I realize that they were talking to me, one of the girls uses both her hands and slaps my ass 4 times.
I was more surprised than anything and laughed it off.
Who does that? Hahaha...

Oh man, Elijah! A 5 star fishing day... multiple species, new species to you... and some cutties give you the butt slap! OK, I guess there were a few jerks in there too. You know how to have a good time on the dock!

I know how you feel. That happenes to me almost every time i catch a fish on a dock full of kids. Just have to ingor them. Great job on the fish too! I really have to go there soon. Its just really inconvenient to drive from tacoma all the way to log boom park, which is way up there in seattle!

I grew up fishing log boom every day in the summer with my grandpa, it's pretty much where I learned to love fishing, and have caught more stuff off that dock than I can remember, but one thats burned into my mind is a 6lb largemouth I caught when I got bored and started casting and retrieving my perch set up (sliding egg sinker to a bait holder hook with a red wiggler worm) We also use to catch 1-2 grass carp a year, some pan fish, and LOTS of perch. Even caught a few crawdads and trout.
There use to be a Heron that would sit a few feet away from us and beg for fish.

You're a lot braver than I am now though. I drive by the dock on my way to work, and you could hardly see the dock today through all the bodies on it! Bunch of kids swimming and sun bathing, even a boat tied up. I'm glad I have a boat now, and don't have to fight with those crowds, cause I know how you feel with all the rude kids, and snoopy people. I can't believe they were going through your tackle box though! I would have had to have some words with someone if they did that to me!

Great report though, keep 'em coming!

yeah, it does get a bit out of hand with all the people on the dock but i put up with it for the good fishing!

i'm kinda confused ... the only Log Boom Park that i know of is in Kenmore but i see people talking about putting in at Gene Coulan park to go fishing at "log boom park " ...... is there another Log Boom Park in the Renton/Newcastle area that i can't find on the map???

Where in Kenmore is logboom park

@ fishnfool, coulon has a boat launch but log boom does not, so my only guess is that they are launching at coulon then boating over to log boom.. however, boat's aren't allowed to fish close to the docks from what i hear. but yes, log boom park is in kenmore. @ blackknight, just type in log boom park into google and click on maps, it'll take you right to it :)

I found it Elijah me and my girl will see you there next week. I hear you about rude people. Do not let that discourage you, keep on fishing. I and my girl are Black come say hello and we will catch some Bluegill with you.
Some folks think they know how to fish. They may but be pleasant to your fellow fisherman. I let a guy use some bait the other day and i always have more than i need. He asked another guy and he said no. I went to school with this guy i loaned the bait to. went back later and he gave me some fish he had caught. what goes down comes around. Techniques are a secret patience is the best.

Hey nice to see logboom still has some bass (I've seen to many people eaten em) I don't mean to throw shade but You don't have to kill pikeminnow they are invasive but they don't do any harm to the "native" fish. Keep in mind bass and common carp are not native to WA. When the grow there real fun to catch.
