Got out on Haller around 7am. Caught two foot-longs hopping a shakey head along the gravel between docks and pads. Decide to break in the new Curado with a 5 inch "Stocker Trout" color paddle tail swim bait rigged with a 1/4 oz Owner weighted swimbait hook. I worked it along the outter edges of the pads. After 40 minutes and as many casts I finally hooked up, right in the middle of an open water spot between two pad fields. The fish jumped six feet away from my 'toon, full out of the water, and threw the hook. It was BIG. I was sad. It would have for sure been my record LMB. Ah well. Next time!
By the time I got off the lake around 12:30, there were probably 25 people splashing around on pool toys, swimmng around and enjoying the water. I treind heading back to the lake Sunday around 4pm, hoping for a little evening action, and there will probably a dozen famlies all hanging out and slpahing, grilling, having fun. No where for me to park, so I tried out Bitter Lake. I got one dink and saw a massive, well it looked like a Koi, swim by. I don't know if it was a Koi, but what else do you call a two foot long white goldfish?
