Last couple of trips have been really tough fishing for kokanee. Earlier trips were very successful but now our fishing holes are being invaded by tons of bluegills. Sometimes tough to get the bait down to the bottom before some bluegills intercept the bait. I also think that the bluegills are so thick that they are bumping into your line and making it feel like a light kokanee bite.
Anyone else run into the same situation with the blue gills? We have even moved but the gills just seem to follow. We are generally fishing in about 30 feet of water. Should we go deeper to get away from the bluegills? We haven't gone out as far as the Granite point hotspots. Do you have a bluegill problem there too? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
