I just started targeting Kokes this year and today was my best outing yet. Had gear in the water at 7:15 and four fish in the boat by 9:00. Spent the next few hours getting 3 more in the boat along with losing a couple. Seven Kokes between 12 and 131/2 inches.
Caught most on the East side of the lake at 65 to 75 ft in 100 ft of water. Same as last week, couldn't get a taker on anything but an Apex. I did take one run from the point to the Aerator and that's were I scored my last fish.
Amazing how the fish have matured in the last week. Eggs sacs and milt sacs are a lot more developed than what I saw last week and the Kokes seem to be schooled up more. About half of the fish had a couple of "bugs" around the vent.Some kind of fluke?
Caught one little cutt. Gotta admire his ambition, he wasn't much bigger than the Apex he attacked.
