Got out a little late on the lake, but headed across from the public boat launch into the 'pads then fished counter clock wise back to the launch. Spent 6 hours on the lake without a bump using top plugs, plastic worms and occasional jigs. We were a party of four on two boats. Lots of carp getting bumped as we worked the 'pads. Came across one guy on a bass boat who thought they were hog LMB. He finally saw one and then believed me those were only carp; sorry guy...
We got desperate enough to try some bread on a hook for carp but no takers. Water condition was very bad. The water was a pea soup green with visibility less than one foot. Also had a two drag type boats roaring right past the "no wake" signs until the rain pushed them off the lake.
This was the first time back on Silver Lake for me in just over 20 years. It was great to be back just wish there were more fish and a lot less drag boats.
