I hit Deer Lake in my little 12' aluminum this afternoon. In the last 2 weeks between myself & 2 friends we've left a lot of money in the bottom of this lake. Pat lost a sweet little Lamiglas spinning rod equipped with a higher end Quantum reel after a smallie ripped it off the deck of his boat, that same day i lost a nice little Buck knife after it's lanyard got tangled in my line while fighting a fish. The next trip my sunglasses flew off my head & today my damned prop fell off my motorguide! What the hell is going on? Glad i brought along my 6 HP Mercury today or i'd still be paddling. Anyways to the report- I spent most of the day looking for some new LMB spots & ended up finding some promising ones too. While scouting around i lost a couple desent LMB but did end up with 15 or so nice sized SMB. Caught most of em' on a dropshot & nailed a couple on a shakyhead, also got a nice 2+lb SMB on a Zoom Brush Hog while fishing for LMB. As for colors dark Green w/ Red flake & Purple seemed to work best today. Only remembered to get one pic & sorry the damn thing's sideways. Fish were released... along with one more piece of my fishing gear. This lake is killing me. MAY YOU ALL BE BLESSED WITH BASS THUMB - William -
