My brother Larry from North Dakota joined my family in our annual weekly vacation at Lake Chelan for a week of bottom fishing for Lake Trout. The whole week was a great success catching from 45-50 Lakers. We also picked up several Kokanee. Friday August 6th started slow in the morning up by the Yaht Club, around noon we moved to Minneapolis Beach and the action picked up. We ended up with 12-15 Lakers with 12#, 9 1/2# and 9# being the largest. We fished in 120' to 160' of water using a K13 Kwikfish with a small strip of Pike Minnow for taste.
Thanks to Anton Jones for tips on fishing line and downrigger line for this type of fishing. If you are a first timer at this type of fishing going out with a Guide like Darrell And Dad"s Family Guide Service will shorten the learning curve.
I might add that we released all but about a dozen fish that didn't recover from the trauma. The largest ones are still out there.
